Today the Welsh Government published a consultation relating to Phase 2 of implementation of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
The Act establishes a new system of regulation and inspection of social care that upholds the rights of Welsh citizens to dignified, safe and appropriate care and support.
We are consulting on improvements to the regulation of social care that will create a new, stronger regulation and inspection regime which will improve oversight of the whole service an organisation provides.
We are also seeking your views on the draft statutory guidance developed under section 29 of the Act which provides further detail about how service providers and responsible individuals may comply with the requirements placed upon them.
In support of this consultation we are holding four half-day information events for stakeholders, to be held on Wednesday 21 June in Cardiff and Thursday 13 July in Wrexham. To register your interest in attending, please contact RISCAct2016 by Friday 2 June. Spaces are limited and subject to availability.
