Cwtch Together: A short film about an Inclusive Play Project in Cardiff

Cwtch Together, is a Saturday play project in central Cardiff, for children with learning disabilities – as well as their carers, siblings and families, in a fun and caring space created so they can play together.

In 2018, as a result of Cardiff Council budget cuts the disability play scheme came under threat. This service has now been developed into a new co-operative, Cwtch Together.  Without this provision, parents often feel isolated from society, avoiding taking their children to public places since their behaviour may be seen as inappropriate or it might just be too difficult for them.  Parents have said that they often ‘stay at home because it’s easier’. Cwtch Together founder members have worked with Care to Co-operate to incorporate as a new co-operative and are now looking to grow its membership and explore new income generation ideas.

Care to Co-operate recently caught up with Cwtch Together to talk about the co-operative, and the impact it has on the local communities…

  1. I am searching to get in touch with people of this project as I am interested to volunteering and came up with your video. Do you have any information about contact details of Cwtch together and how to get in touch with them ?
