Yesterday we shared a story about an emerging, co-produced, Direct Payment co-operative called ‘Friends United Together’ – if you didn’t see the story, you can read it here.
What is so good about Direct Payment co-operatives I hear you ask? Let’s have a look at Friends United Together…
“By working together as a co-operative and pooling their Direct Payments, Friends United Together can spend more time together, and as members of the co-operative, they have greater voice and control over the type of care and support they purchase. Also, the co-operative will directly employ their Support Workers in future!”
Care to Co-operate want to help more people get the most out of their Direct Payments, and give them more voice and control in their lives – especially with care and support services.
Care to Co-operate have published a fact sheet that tells you everything you need to get started with Direct Payment co-operatives – have a look, share it, tell your friends and get in touch with us to take your idea to the next level.
Care to Co-operate has supported people and organisations to work co-operatively, to design and run services, for over three years. Do you have an idea for a care and support co-operative?
