Direct Payments is a type of Social Security that allows people to have more responsibility and ownership of the care and support services they use. There are many benefits to Direct Payments – its versatile, enables greater voice and control, but, it can still be a bit confusing – where do I start, what do I need to know, what happens when I get them? This is where Social Care Wales and Care to Co-operate can help…..
Social Care Wales have created an online tool, ‘Direct Payments: A Guide’, which explains everything you need to know from the ground up. Its an excellent starting place to gain knowledge and decide if its right for you.
Social Care Wales describes it as…
“A resource that can be used by both practitioners and direct payments recipients in Wales to support good practice by giving access to essential information, case studies, data, and research.”
Care to Co-operate want to help more people get the most out of their Direct Payments, and give them more voice and control in their lives – especially with care and support services. The service is free and available to all!
We are working with an emerging co-operative who are doing just that. Read all about it by clicking the button below….
Care to Co-operate have published a fact sheet that tells you everything you need to get started with Direct Payment co-operatives – have a look, share it, tell your friends and get in touch with us to take your idea to the next level.
